What is Gum Aesthetics?

In order to provide the desired appearance and aesthetics to the tooth, it may sometimes be necessary to intervene in the tissues around the tooth, namely the gums. Gum aesthetics, also called pink aesthetics, is provided by the level, color and health of the gums. A beautiful and aesthetic smile is only possible if the gums are healthy and compatible with the teeth. Healthy gingiva is coral pink in color, does not bleed when brushed, and is firmly attached to bones and teeth. Having a difference in the level of the gums, being in a swollen and bleeding state or being longer than necessary prevents a satisfactory aesthetic appearance as a result of the procedures applied to the teeth. In this case, first of all, the gums are treated, if they are long, they are shortened with a process called gingivectomy, if there is a difference in level, leveling is done and then other procedures to be applied to the teeth are started.
